Ingredient: Plain yogurt
It is a preference, but some parents opt for regular yogurt as greek yogurt may be too tart for babies. Opt for full fat yogurt.
It’s important not to substitute cow’s milk for breast milk or infant formula
Give your baby some natural flavor by mixing yogurt with pureed fruit such as raspberries or mango.
Make sure to puree the fruit well to avoid any choking hazards.
Frozen peas may be purchased or a pre-mashed baby food.

Use commercially bought sweet potato puree or make at home: pierce a sweet potato a few times with a fork and stick it in the microwave for ~5 minutes. Remove skin and mix well with yogurt.
This is a fun way to give your baby exposure to new flavors, if they haven’t tried cinnamon before!
Ripe avocado may be mashed and mixed in with the yogurt, and also placed on top in vertical sticks.

Ingredient: Scrambled Egg
The egg can be scrambled or baked but must be well cooked.
Try mashing with pureed foods or chopping and serve as finger food.
One of the easiest ways to incorporate eggs into a baby food puree is by simply mashing or blending the egg (yolk and white) with one of your baby’s favorite fruits or vegetables. Ensure that the egg is cooked thoroughly.
Mash a hard-boiled egg with yogurt to get a delicious creamy consistency.
You can also mash the hard-boiled egg with a few white beans, soft tofu, chicken or any thick puree you have on hand.
Add mango and cooked egg into a blender. Add water, formula or breastmilk until blended thoroughly. This can also be made with other fruits and vegetables, such as sweet potato, carrot, or broccoli.
Ensure that the egg is cooked thoroughly and blend with a little bit of water to ensure a softer consistency.
Heat a handful of cherry tomatoes in a pan. Beat one egg with a fork. Once the tomatoes are soft enough that the skins break, pour beaten egg into the pan and cook well.
Add roasted or mashed potatoes in with a beaten egg and cook over low to medium heat in a skillet. Add rosemary or other herbs to introduce your baby to new flavors!

Allergen: Peanut
Ingredient: Peanut Butter
Opt for peanut butter with no added salt, sugar, or oils. It can be thinned with breast milk, water, or formula.
Mash up some mixed berries, such as blueberries or strawberries and add in 2 teaspoons of thinned peanut butter for a baby PB&J.
Make sure to puree the fruit well to avoid any choking hazards.
Blend together some spinach, kale, or any seasonal leafy green vegetable with a couple teaspoons of peanut butter, thinned with breast milk, water, or formula.
Take some yogurt and drizzle some peanut butter into the yogurt and blend or mix until it’s thoroughly incorporated.

Blend together some whole apples with a little peanut butter until the peanut is fully incorporated and the fruit is a nice soft consistency. Add breast milk, water, or formula to thin the mixture as needed.
Add half an avocado to a couple teaspoons of peanut butter help make a creamy and nutritious meal for baby.
Make a batter of ~¼ cup of peanut butter, flour, and a ¼ tsp of baking powder and ⅛ tsp of baking soda and add about 1 egg. Add to a sprayed mini-muffin pan and bake at 350F for 12-15 mins.

Allergen: Wheat
Ingredient: Infant Wheat Cereal
Stick quick oats into a microwave with water. Transfer the oats to a blender or food processor and puree for 1-2 minutes, adding water if needed, until completely smooth.
Cook using water, milk or non dairy alternatives. Make sure to use extra liquid to ensure a creamy texture.
Most pediatricians recommend starting rice baby cereal at about 4-6 months old for baby’s first food.
Bread makes a super easy go-to when starting out with baby-led weaning. Simply cut or tear a slice of bread into bite-size pieces, place them on the high chair, and let your child pincer-grasp them to their mouth.
Prepare large pieces of flat, wide noodles or whole pieces of large tubular pasta, such as penne, rigatoni, or ziti. Pasta may be slippery and a little tough to hold on to with the immature grasp at this age. You may also chop spaghetti and other thin noodle shapes and serve in a bowl for hand scooping.
Teething biscuits and cookies do not crack or crumble. Instead, they dissolve on contact with your baby’s gums, stimulating and soothing them in the process.

Sesame is a key ingredient in hummus and is made out of sesame seeds.
Hummus, store bought, or homemade, is one of the easiest ways to introduce sesame.
If buying packaged hummus, make sure tahini is listed in the ingredients.
Puree some mixed season greens, like kale, spinach, or broccoli, and mix into a couple tablespoons of hummus. If necessary, thin with water.

Note: Tofu is available in various consistencies, we recommend finding the softest one available at your local grocery store.
